- 200g noodles or pasta of your choice
- 200g lean ground pork
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1-1½ tsp doubanjiang (fermented bean paste)
- 2 tbsp honey adjust to taste
- 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- sesame seeds for garnish
- green onions chopped, for garnish
- 1-2 tbsp cooking oil
- rice vinegar optional
Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of the noodle water for later use.
Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, combine doubanjiang, honey, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well until smooth.
Heat cooking oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Cook the protein: Add ground pork until browned. This forms the savory base for the noodles.
Add the prepared sauce to the pan. Stir to coat the protein evenly and let it cook for 1–2 minutes to release all the flavors.
Combine noodles and sauce: Toss the cooked noodles in the pan until fully coated in the spicy-sweet mixture. Add a splash of reserved noodle water for a silky consistency.
Finish with green onions and sesame seeds. Taste and adjust salt if needed.
Optional: Add a splash of rice vinegar for brightness.
